This Cancellation and Refund Policy details the terms for canceling a booking made on IntoTheShoonya.com or through a direct quote from Shoonya’s owners, along with the applicable refund process.
Cancellation by You
You may cancel your booking at any time before your check-in date. The amount of refund you will receive depends on the cancellation timeframe:

- If you cancel 14 days before your check-in date, you will receive a full refund (minus any processing fees)
- If you cancel between 7 and 14 days before your check-in date, you will receive a 50% refund (minus any processing fees) or an option for deferment (read more about deferment in the below sections). A full refund can be processed if we receive a booking for the same unit on the same dates.
- Cancellation requests made after the designated cancellation period will not be eligible for a refund.
To cancel your booking, please contact us at namaste@intotheshoonya.com. You will receive a confirmation email once your cancellation is processed. - Policies are subject to change. In the event of any updates, all booked guests will be notified accordingly.

Cancellation by Us
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your booking, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer you the following options:
- A full refund for the canceled booking.
- A booking for an alternative date with equivalent or better accommodations (subject to availability).
Changes to Your Booking
If you need to modify your booking dates, please contact us as soon as possible. We will try our best to accommodate your request, but changes may be subject to availability and additional charges.
Refunds
- Refunds will be processed within 7 business days of receiving your cancellation request.
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the booking.
Non-Refundable Fees
- Any processing fees associated with your booking are non-refundable.
Deferment
- Please note that deferments can only be availed once within 6 months from the date of cancellation.
- Deferments will be non-refundable, subject to availability, and additional charges.

- Early check-in/ late check-out requests must be made a day in advance, are subject to availability, and will incur an extra charge:
Early check-in: 1/3rd of the nightly tariff
Late check-out: full nightly tariff after 12 PM - Early check-out (before 8 AM) will incur an additional charge, which goes directly to our staff for their extra effort beyond working hours.
- Check-in time begins when staff receives guests at the parking spot & ends when staff drops guests at the parking spot.
- There is no provision to wait in the common area for an early check-in or late check-out
We have a private parking spot, adjacent to the main road. Guests can park up to three cars here, all under CCTV surveillance.
A ~600m (12-15 min) village trail walk takes you to the property. First 100 m are the steepest: 2 & 4 wheelers can come up till this point if needed. From there it is ~200 m flat >> 50 m uphill, not very steep >> ~250m flat and down hill.
Our team member/s will provide help with heavy luggage/s. We request our guests to extend their helping hands in carrying light items and luggages such as laptop bags, hand bags, bag-packs etc.
Most of the villages/ houses in this region are situated away from the road, making road side parking arrangements very common where community members ensure safety and security collectively.
Our road side parking space is private, non-gated, and under CCTV surveillance.

- Kids above 5 years of age will be considered adults
Yes, we are pet friendly and allow furry friends of all sizes. The property offers ample of outer space for pets to run around. Pet owners must keep a watch on their furry ones. Pets are allowed inside the rooms however guests are strictly advised to keep them away from the beds, linens, furnishings meant for guests usage. Any violation will result in a fine of INR 5,000
Stay charges for pets will depend on the stay duration and number of pets. Please contact us to discuss more.
We have a fully functional kitchen and provide both a la carte (small groups) and meal package options (big groups).
Our in-house chef is available to whip up some delicious home-style meals for you. All meals are prepared using only the freshest of ingredients, sourced from local markets.
We’ll be happy to share the menu before you make the booking.
- Kids below 5 years: no charges for buffet
- Kids between 5 to 10 years of age will be charged ₹245 per kid for breakfast
- Kids above 10 years of age will be considered adults

Power cuts are rare, but in case of a maintenance-related outage, please note that the Mrida unit, including our common area, Kriti, does not have a power backup. The Ivy Cottage does have backup power that lasts up to 4 hours; however, geysers will not be operational during this time.
Smoking is allowed in all outer areas. All insides (including the bathroom) are strictly a no smoking zone. The polished wood are highly inflammable. There are no exhausts in any of the rooms to ventilate the air. Cushions and linens are prone to damages caused. Any damages caused due to negligence will attract a recovery fee. Any violation of the smoking policy will attract a fine of INR 5000.
Drinking is allowed in all areas, including the rooms.
The property is at ~7 hours drive from Delhi/Noida, and 9 hours from Lucknow.
Roads are wide, and remain clear during all seasons. During tourist seasons, sometimes traffic runs slow until Bhimtal. We can arrange for a local taxi if booked a day in advance. Fare to be paid directly to the driver.
