EXCELLENT Based on 217 reviews Posted on Google Shampa BardhanAugust 2, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Shoonya is a beautiful escape from the city crowds, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and peaceful village life. What was meant to be a 2-day trip turned into an unforgettable 7-day stay The hospitality of Mahima and RK made the experience even more special. Waking up to stunning Himalayan views overlooking the apple orchards and enjoying the delicious food prepared by the chef made every day memorable. If you’re looking to disconnect from the chaos, experience the warmth of wonderful people, and immerse yourself in nature, I can’t recommend Shoonya enough. 10/10 – I’ll definitely be back! Our family of four stayed in the Ivy Quad room—a beautifully designed duplex with a double bed on each level—and it was one of the most memorable stays we've ever had. Every aspect of Shoonya has been thoughtfully curated. From torches and walking sticks for evening strolls, umbrellas for unexpected rain, a well-stocked medicine box with clear instructions, heated beds, and impeccable cleanliness, every little detail reflects genuine care and attention. With only 5–6 rooms spread across half an acre, the property feels incredibly peaceful, with plenty of open spaces to relax, unwind, and explore. Shoonya is much more than a place to stay—it's an experience. We walked through the village, passing cabbage, apple, pear, and walnut farms all the way to the local primary school. The villagers warmly welcomed us for tea, and those simple interactions became some of our favorite memories. There is so much to do at the property that I would strongly recommend staying at least three nights to truly embrace the slow, mindful pace of life that Shoonya encourages. Mahima and RK, the owners, are among the warmest and most humble hosts we've met. They genuinely go out of their way to make every guest feel at home. Bhawan, the caretaker, Girish, the chef, and the entire team are courteous, professional, and exceptionally hospitable. My elderly parents were especially impressed—not just by the hospitality, but by the thoughtfully curated menu and the outstanding food. They said it was unlike anything they had experienced before. We're already planning to return, this time with a larger group, and hope to book the entire property so our loved ones can experience the magic of Shoonya. Shoonya Mukteshwar has our highest recommendation. If you're looking for a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience heartfelt hospitality, this is it.Posted on Google Shayari or KhayaalJuly 25, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What stood out the most was the beautiful greenery and the many cozy little spots where you could just sit back and relax. The property has plenty of activities too, we enjoyed playing darts in the game room and trying our hand at archery. One of our favorite areas was the mud house with a traditional oven next to it, offering a beautiful view and a very peaceful vibe. I never thought my stay would be so wonderful. At first, I was a little skeptical about a staycation with a group of 10 people as normally this would end in cramped spaces but Shoonya is designed in such a way that everyone had their own warm corners in the whole cottage. We were having our college reunion after 11 years, so all of us needed a relaxing space where we could all catch up with each other. 1. The Property - Despite being slightly off-road, the property had no issues with connectivity, and it was very easy to find. The hosts sent us a helper who met us on the road and helped us carry our luggage safely to our cottage. And once we reached there, it was like walking into a big, beautiful home with gardens and open spaces, which immediately made us feel like we were not in a hotel or an average BNB. It instantly felt like home. The interiors were also carefully designed/curated by the hosts, giving us a feeling of inclusivity and very close to nature yet being very modern. The facilities were top-notch, like a nice hotel, where we had very clean bathrooms, bed linens, etc. 2. The Food - They have an in-house kitchen and a fairly extensive menu where they use locally sourced ingredients for the food. And it reflected in the taste in every dish we ordered. Whether it was their authentic Pahadi dishes or basic North Indian dishes, all the food they served definitely felt like homemade food, and it was a good break for us from all the city/cafe food we have in our daily lives. Also, kudos to the kitchen team because they served food all over the property and not just in your room. You just had to contact them over WhatsApp, and they would drop whatever you need wherever you need. 3. Things to do - as we were having our reunion after such a long time, the common areas enabled us to keep our phones aside and spend some time with each other doing things that we normally don’t get to do anywhere. Like watching birds. The hosts had thorough knowledge of the birds and could even tell their species by just their birdcalls. We saw some unique birds singing all day long and honestly it was like music that was playing in the background throughout. It felt very relaxing. So relaxing that we had a couple of exes from our group reconcile after such a long time. Haha! They had a loft from where you could see quite far and it was very windy up there but very nice. There was a “Fire and Feast” area as well where they had made an old village-style mud kitchen where the guests can try cooking if they feel like. My favourite space was the common room “Kriti” where they had provided a lot of board games, painting supplies and it had huge glass windows from where you could see some mountains. Also, the listening room was very cool as well. They have a mic and really good speakers where we had a karaoke night. They also took us out on a night trek in the mountains. Very cool. 4. The hosts - Rashmikant (RK) and Mahima were like the coolest couple we have ever met. They were like an inspiration for our whole group. They were exceptional conversationalists who genuinely showed interest and shared their knowledge about life, philosophy, and everything you can think of. They are very well-read and had keen interest in Kant, Hegel, and Schopenhauer. RK is a stupendous singer as well. He literally performed for us for more than an hour or so singing all the 90s bangers. Mahima had a very calm and peaceful vibe where she knew everything that was going on on the property and on top of that, she was a fantastic cook specialising in some of the famous Pahadi dishes that she cooked in front of us, also encouraging people to get involved who were interested in cooking. Overall, if you’re looking for a place where you want to reconnect with nature with your loved ones without worrying about compromising with facilities. This is the place to go. Also, if you’re from Delhi NCR like us, this property is within a comfortable driving range, making it perfect for a weekend getaway or even for remote work and longer stays.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
