EXCELLENT Based on 179 reviews Posted on Jubin KatiyarMarch 14, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely breathtaking staycation at Shoonya. RK & Mahima are amazing hosts, and the entire crew makes you feel truly welcome. The rooms are beautiful, the location is stunning, and the property is wonderfully designed with great attention to detail. Our favourite spots were the music room and the star-gazing arena on top. The food was fantastic, both veg and non-veg. It’s also a pet-friendly place. We took our lab Oggy along, and he had an absolute blast there. Thank you for such an enriching experience. Looking forward to coming back and crashing there again soon!Posted on Nimit ShahMarch 14, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was on a solo trip to UK, and so glad I came across Shoonya, where I spent two nights. It was a perfect stay - clean, great food (local and otherwise), quiet location. RK and Mahima were super helpful in recommending a hike nearby. The staff too is quite hospitable, always ready and willing to answer your questions. Special shoutout to Sanju for recommending local dishes and for his hospitality. I will be back (hopefully soon).Posted on shivendu gangwarMarch 12, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A heavenly hill retreat with breathtaking views and heartfelt hospitality I recently stayed at Shoonya in Mukteshwar, hosted by RK and Mahima, and it was an absolute joy from start to finish. The location is a tranquil haven in the hills, where panoramic views and the gentle hush of nature set the tone for a restorative escape. What stood out: - Views and serenity: Every moment felt postcard-perfect. The scenery, the pine-scented air, and the quiet moments of stillness made it easy to unwind and recharge. - Warm, thoughtful hosting: RK and Mahima were attentive and welcoming, striking the perfect balance between giving guests space and ensuring all needs were met. Their hospitality truly enhanced the experience. - Kitchen and meals: The food was a highlight—delicious, wholesome, and varied. It was clear that care and quality went into every meal, which complemented the peaceful ambiance perfectly. - Comfort and setup: The space was comfortable and well-maintained, with a layout that encouraged mindful living and relaxation after a day of activities or simply soaking in the scenery.Posted on Vatsal BhasinMarch 3, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. !!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! If you’re planning that trip with your favourite people this year, this might be your sign to finally make it happen.
Not just to get away —
but to be together, without rush or routine.
At Shoonya, the spaces are made for both —
moments of solitude, and moments that bring everyone closer.
Where laughter lingers,
meals stretch a little longer,
and conversations unfold without effort.
Bring your people.
We’ll take care of the rest.

Shoonya isn’t just a place to stay.
It’s a collection of spaces — each with its own rhythm.
A walkway through a young native forest.
A glass room where birds, wind and silence become the music.
An earthy farm hut where Kumaoni flavours simmer slowly over firewood.
A stone lounge for sunlit breakfasts and fireside evenings.
A deck that opens into the vastness of the Himalayas.
Some corners invite solitude.
Some bring people together.
And somewhere between laughter, music, good food, and quiet conversations,
the spirit of Shoonya quietly unfolds.
Which of these spaces would you spend the most time in?

Holi in Kumaon feels less like a single day and more like a season. 🌸
Days before the festival, the village slowly fills with music, colour, and celebration. Groups move from home to home singing Khadi Holi, and everywhere you go, there is laughter, rhythm, and people coming together.
One of the most beautiful details is the Holi saree — white sarees with red or maroon motifs, often inspired by flowers like the Buransh (rhododendron).
This year was special. After two years, Letibunga celebrated Holi again, and for the first time, we experienced it here in its full spirit. The women from the village brought the celebration to Shoonya too — filling the space with song, colour, and joy.
A reminder that the most beautiful festivals are the ones shared with a community. 🌿
